In THE SILVER DOLLAR DUKE SHOW the artist, author and singer Madame Nielsen transforms and re-enacts the scenic life of David Bowie from popstar to ghost and beyond identifications.
In collaboration with her musical companion throughout a decade, the composer and multi-instrumentalist Sailor Simon Toldam and the drummer Simon Forchhammer, she takes humanity on a journey into outer mental, sonic, and scenic space through a flush of the most legendary Bowie hits – from the birth of Ziggy Stardust in Space Oddity through Ashes to Ashes and Let’s Dance to the death of the star and human being in Blackstar and the subsequent resurrection as creep in Ant People.
Each of the androgyne alter egos of Bowie are transformed into new fragile Madamed beings beyond gender identification and species, from Homo Sacer through android to posthuman insect. And each of the songs are destroyed and recreated in completely new fragile and hard-heartbeating and danceflooring versions.
A show between homage and homicide.
