LOL – LAUGHING OUT LONELY is the coarse-grained filterlessness of the internet lived out in real life. A musical echo chamber about a lonely person who gets lost in the darkest corners of the internet, where self-harmers, racists, misogynists and other outcasts gather to share a common hatred of the world and themselves.

LAUGHING OUT LONELY consists of ten solo songs that intertwine social media posts. At once a somber mirror of our digital present and a moving operatic experience, countertenor Morten Grove Frandsen’s wild, bright voice interprets the unhappy girl with ‘The Fucking Ugly Face’ or ‘The Lamb’ who longs to be slaughtered.

The performance is curated and presented by CPH STAGE in collaboration with OPE-N and Sort/Hvid.
