HVID TEGNER SORT MODEL

Look at me! Stare all you want. What do you see? A gender? A colour? A human being?

A room is transformed into a croquis canvas. A white woman draws a naked black man. And the other way around. The audience is welcome to draw too, if they feel like it.

While bodies get sketched with black charcoal on snow-white paper the models start to doubt: What are we allowed to call each other? Which words can we use? When do we cross a line we are not aware of?

HVID TEGNER SORT MODEL (WHITE DRAWS BLACK MODEL) is sketches from the war zone called identity politics. With a sketch book as their tool a white woman and a black man explore how power, status and identity are constantly negotiated. Has political correctness overtaken and made us overly cautious?  Or is greater sensitivity and awareness of the power of words a help? How do we agree on our differences and is that even possible?
