REVOLUTION
Financial crisis. Economic crisis. Political crisis. Value crisis. Population crisis. Refugee crisis. Energy crisis. Climate crisis. We live in a time of crises.
We have heard the story about refugees walking on the highway, felt the property prices jump and seen pictures of staving polar bears. We have listened to experts and news hosts stress that it cannot continue this way. We have accepted that something drastic has to happen. What exactly this should be is difficult to put into words. What is even more difficult is to imagine a whole new world. A total upheaval of our society. A completely new structure. A world in which we are, perhaps, our own worst enemy. And in the middle of all of this, everyday life slaps the fighting spirit in the face and leaves it in the fetal position.
REVOLUTION is a grotesque crisis sitcom in an IKEA world. Four people are trying to create a revolution. Precisely what the revolution entails, no one can actually say. Not even the revolution itself really knows. Based on texts by the marxist art historian Mikkel Bolt Rasmussen, Christian Lollike explores if we are ready to define and create a new reality.
The performance is co-produced with Aarhus Teater.
