The creative team behind the hugely succesful performance Skyggernes Museum continues their search into trauma theatre with NEMO. Come and experience an explosive mix of rebellion, paranoia, and live music, when the entire theatre is involved in a submarine captain’s escape from a world in chaos.

Do you also fantasize about disappearing?

A pyromaniac is wreaking havoc in Copenhagen. The citizens of the city are fleeing as the flames spread. In the nightclub Amalie Skram, hidden in the deepest corners of the city, only a few remain: Captain Nemo, his adoptive daughter Sonja, and Commissioner Moreau.

Unknowingly, Nemo is drawn into a mysterious network of saboteurs. The plan: destruction, escape, and the rise of a new society. Soon, he is heading towards his own downfall. Aboard the giant submarine Nautilus, he is forced to confront a world he no longer understands.

Jokum Rohde has written a claustrophobic portrait of our time, inspired by Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. A story about a world in decay, a man on the brink of dissolution, and a future for the uncompromising.

The entirety of Sort/Hvid is incorporated into an all encompassing set design, where the audience steps into Nemo’s mythical Nautilus. Follow along in a twisted fever dream. A nightly struggle to reshape a society in decay. An explosive mix of rebellion, paranoia, and live music performed by musician and sound designer Jacobe Suissa.

The traumas lie in the depths.
