A set table. Rhythmic heartbeats. A transcending electronic pulse. Earthy scents. The room is blurred. Everything feels soft. Now, the master of the ceremony steps forward. Someone is chanting. You are connected to everyone. And now you shall die. To be reborn.

APOLLONIAN BLACKOUT is a musical experience, mixing music, theater, and performance. With inspiration from myths, rituals and traditions, participants are invited on a trance-like trip that examines and challenges the relationship between music, musicians, and audience.

The focal point of Apollonian Blackout is the transatlantic ensemble Hess Is More, led by the Danish multi-instrumentalist Mikkel Hess. The musical experience is staged by director Tue Biering, the scenographers Christian Friedländer and Dicki Lakha and the designer Henrik Vibskov.

A co-production between Sort/Hvid, Kaja MANGEMENT and Hess Is More
