AN EXPEDITION CONCERNING THE FUTURE OF GREENLAND

We hereby invite you to join an expedition to Greenland in an old machine hall in the Botanical Garden of Copenhagen.

Three expedition tents filled with rocks, seal skins, paper binders and rare types of soil – this is where Global Stories set about gazing into the future of Greenland – and that of Denmark too.

Are the Greenlanders on their way to new Arctic alliances – and so amidst saying goodbye to Denmark? What will be the livelihood of Greenland if the dreams of mining collapse and the Chinese money do not show? What exactly is so rare about the rare soil of Greenland? And are there any good news to be made from the melting of the Ice sheet?

In NI HAO NUUK we meet – among others – the young Greenlander from Kvanefjeld, a Norwegian super expert, and the only Chinese in the city of Nuuk. Perhaps they hold the answers to our questions. Or perhaps we will all find them together when we meet and talk during the Greenlandic ‘coffee mik’.

NI HAO NUUK is collaboration between Global Stories and Sort/Hvid. The performance is directed by Ditte Maria Bjerg – well-known for her engaging, research based performances.
